"There are few things in life as special as seeing a bride on her wedding day. Every wedding is like a wonderful dream that is meant to be documented with timeless photography that will preserve your memories for a lifetime. This is why I am so passionate about what I do, and this is why I love weddings"
Hi there! My name is Matthew and I'm so happy you stopped by. I consider myself the luckiest man alive to wake up every morning to my beautiful wife and two wonderful kids, Jude and Jonas. I'm a lover of interior decorating, art, Basketball, and of course photography. I enjoy traveling to new places, viewing beautiful architecture, and experiencing new people and cultures. I'm based in the city of Indianapolis, Indiana (USA), and I have been lucky enough to shoot beautiful and elegant weddings across the Midwest, the mountains of Colorado, and as far away as Hong Kong. I would be honored to be your photographer, wherever your wonderful wedding may take me.
My Style
I photograph weddings with a fine art documentary style and approach. Editorial and photojournalistic sensibilities are combined to document your day as it unfolds. I strive to capture what makes you perfectly unique as a bride, and what personifies you as a couple, while always making sure that your story is told in an elegant, natural, and tasteful way.
My Passion for Weddings
What lies at the root my love for photographing weddings is that every wedding is about people: the love between two individuals and the gathering of their families and friends. The interactions and the emotions that unfold during the wedding day are what I love capturing. There are few things in life as special as seeing a bride on her wedding day. Every wedding is like a wonderful dream that is meant to be documented with timeless photography that will preserve your memories for a lifetime. This is why I am so passionate about what I do, and this is why I love weddings.
My Experience
I have been a photographer for nearly a decade and I have been a wedding photographer for six years. If I am not taking pictures, you will find me studying my craft so that I am always learning and growing. I have completed workshops with some of the best known wedding photographers in the world, and also have done an intensive workshop with Magnum photographers (Magnum is considered to be the most prestigious and well known photography agency in the world). Outside of weddings I work on long term personal projects. I recently received a grant from the State of Indiana to continue my work on one of my projects, which was recently exhibited. My goal is for this project to be published as a book.
Fun Facts
I am 6'8" and I am pretty certain that I will be the tallest photographer you meet, and I love using it to my advantage to capture unique angles.
I grew up living in both Guatemala and the UK. My family moved to Colorado when I was fourteen and I now call Indianapolis home.
I grew up drawing and a lover of art. I love going to art museums, and one of the ways I relax is by watching art and photography documentaries.
I love interior design. Some of my favorite magazines include: Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, and Dwell. It serves as another creative outlet.
I have always loved great architecture, and at one point, I wanted to be an architect.
"Photographers deal in things which are continually vanishing and when they have vanished there is no contrivance on earth which can make them come back again... Memory is very important... You have to be sure that you haven't left any holes, that you've captured everything, because afterwards it will be too late."
